The Housing Assessment Program (HAP) is Kent County's central intake point for homeless persons or those at risk of becoming homeless. HAP refers households to a variety of community services or agencies for assistance to resolve their housing crisis.
Essential services include an emergency food pantry and energy assistance. Our pantry has regularly scheduled hours Monday through Friday and serves the entire Kent County area. Energy assistance may be available for households facing shut off or are already disconnected. Holiday assistance is available for Christmas.
A response of the faith community to help prevent and end homelessness. Engage in a relational ministry by providing volunteer support and financial resources to alleviate a housing crisis for a program participant.
In partnership with the Heart of West Michigan United Way's Kent County Tax Credit Coalition (KCTCC) we provide free tax preparation and E-Filing services February through April 15.
