Utility Assistance

Food Pantry

Our pantry has regularly scheduled hours Monday through Friday and serves the entire Kent County area.

-Monday: 1:30 – 3:30pm
-Tuesday: 9:00am – 4:00pm
-Wednesday: 1:30-3:30pm
-Thursday: 9:00am- 4:00pm
-Friday: 9:00am- 12:00pm

Identification is required for all household members. Adults are required to have a photo ID. Social security cards, school IDs, medical cards, shot records, and birth certificates are valid for children.

Utility Assistance

Utility assistance for electric, natural gas, and deliverable fuel may be available for households that have a past-due notice, are facing shut off, or are already disconnected. Please call (616) 459-9468 to find out if you are eligible for assistance. Households do not need to apply at DHS before seeking assistance from The Salvation Army.

Holiday Assistance

Holiday assistance is available for Christmas. Food vouchers and toys are provided as appropriate with the support of community donations. Watch for more information about registration in October at your neighborhood food pantry.
